Dr. James Fili
James M. Fili, DDS, MS comes from a family of dentists. He graduated from New York University College of Dentistry in 1990. After several years practicing general dentistry, Dr. Fili decided to return to the University of Iowa and completed his Masters in Periodontology in 1997.
Dr. Fili opened Dubuque Periodontics in August of 2000, and is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association, the Midwest Society of Periodontology, and the Iowa Society of Periodontology.
Meet Our Team
Bonnie worked for eleven years as a Registered Dental Assistant before transitioning to dental office front desk. She joined Dr. Fili’s Dubuque Periodontics team in June 2017, where her favorite part of her job is meeting new patients, helping them understand their dental situations, and helping them through their fear of treatment.
In Bonnie’s spare time, she enjoys camping, trout fishing and gardening with her husband. She has been blessed with three children and nine grandchildren, and says: “Any time I can spend with them is wonderful.”
Registered Dental Assistant
Alexandria graduated from Northeast Iowa Community College with a Dental Assisting degree. Her favorite part of her job is helping patients overcome their fear of the dentist and watching them walk away with a healthy smile.
In her free time, Alexandria being outdoors, playing horseshoes, bowling, going to the river with her family and spending time with her daughter Katalina. She especially enjoys taking Katalina to the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium.
Registered Dental Hygienist
Kathryn graduated from Carl Sandburg College with her Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene in 2018. Before choosing the dental field as her focus, she attended college for Veterinary Technology and practiced as a vet tech for several years, which is where her passion for dentistry developed. Her favorite aspect of her career is watching her patients’ oral health improve as she provides thorough dental cleanings. Kathryn also enjoys working with her patients to help refine their oral care routines, make oral health improvements, and revamp their overall health and well-being.
In her spare time, Kathryn likes crafting, visiting her family, and making regular visits to Michigan to see her fiance Aaron’s family. Kathryn and Aaron have two dogs and a cat they consider their furkids: a Yorkie named Jemma, a Mini Australian Shepherd named Rosie, and a spunky white kitten named Caspurr.
